Lenva's tips for using in the classroom
Tip Number One
  • Have everything stored in one central place even if created on another tool.
  • At Bucklands Beach Intermediate they use Ning to upload video to and store content in a private teacher account. This is a storage space from which you can then embed out on any other space eg blogs. There is no advertising on embed players. http://www.ning.com/
Tip Number Two (mac only)
Tip Number Three
  • Flip cameras - easy to use and plugs in with USB for uploading.
  • 60 minutes of recording and 2Mb.
  • 2 AA batteries
  • Software - Flip share - can take still images

Etherpad

This tool allows you to have real time collaboration on a writing document where people can edit simultaneously. There is no account required and each author's edit is highlighted in a different colour so you can easily see who is doing what. For ideas on how to use Etherpad, check out this online presentation (only two ideas so far but this will grow)

Also, Lenva Shearing has a Google Doc that is willing to share which shows a lesson idea for collaborative writing using Etherpad
